No, they made a KT400A. So it is KT400B!

That f*cking KT133(?) on my K7ZVA made me swap my soundcards twice until i found the solution to get rid of the crackling ... i simply kicked out that damn POS mobo after i spent countless hours changing registers and applying latency patches by some george guy and others.

Now i'm a SIS friend I won't buy VIA KT* chipset based mobos anymore even if they will fly me to the moon!

I am using a KT400. This is my first and last VIA MB.

Yep, I'm done with Via too. Reading all the problems you guys faced and my own problems, it's not worth the chance. I';; stick with SIS, but now my problem (which is a good problem) is do I go with AMD again or try the new Intel's

KT133A the worst chipset ever released.

Amazingly people are still complaining about machines crashing or not working with new hardware when using this chipset.

If I was in the market right now, I'd buy intel for sure. Those 2.4C chips are looking pretty sweet, along with an i865 mobo. I'm using a KT333 based board right now. I don't have any serious problems with it, but it just doesn't feel "right", ya know?

Careful about those Intel chipsets too as they have been producing lemons of late. At the very least the E7205 (Granite Bay) and the E7505 both have a screwed AGP implementation.

Stability can be partially restored by disabling the AGP Prefetch Cache (performance hit?), but another problem is that the bus timing for AGP8x is also off key. This too can be mitigated by down-clocking the AGP to 4x, but again you're not getting what you pay for. Intel states in their notice on these that NO fixes are forthcoming for either issue.

Doesn't this sound a lot like the VIA MVP3 problem with the write cache pipeline?
