      It's the controller and that big, fat pipeline between the NB and SB. That extra bandwidth translates to better performance with other PCI devices too, like video editing cards

        Hey Nuno, do you have Mandrake 9.1. It won't install on my machine (8.2 does)

          hey Denty.

          For mandrake 9.1, disable APIC then install mandrake.

          If you want to enable apic you will have to compile a new kernel with APIC enabled(built into ther kernel , NOT as a module) after you have installed mandrake 9.1

          8.2 does not have any issues with apic at all, well thats what I found for my k7s5a (and a7n8x)
