I know what your saying but say someone asked you what video card you've got most people would refer to it as an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro rather than a Connect 3D or Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro. It's a lot more clear cut with nVidia cards as they are all made someone else in the same way that Matrox cards are all made by Matrox, (excepting the odd ball Gigibyte card that existed once )

Call me pedantic if you like (and I won't argue anymore!) but I think I would say 'Radeon 9600', unless I was talking to a techy in which case I would specify the make (ATI, Sapphire, Connect3D etc).

Ah well, lets just see if the damn thing works...

Got to admit I would prefer a card made by ATI themselfs. However the policy is working for them.

There are no more "made by ATI" cards. There are "branded in an ATI box" cards, but they're made by... err... Sapphire, IIRC.

Connect3D are in fact quite often BBA cards, so I would check that before complaining too much....

            (technically speaking you're correct, though)

How strange...I assumed they would be gushing to explain themselves

Seriously though, the card is actually working fine, with IQ being slightly better than my genuine MADE BY ATI RADEON 8500 64MB.

3DMARK2k3 on the 8500 was 1414, on the 9500 it is 3333. (PC Spec XP2500+ @ 2100 (12*175), EPOX 8RDA+, 2*256MB PC3200 dual channel). The only game I've had chance to play is Enter the Matrix, which was noticeably smoother. Early days yet though. I haven't o/c'd the card itself yet.
