To be honest I doubt if MS is bothered about Opera or Mozzilla that much. Unless there market share suddenly starts increasing, which I doubt as Joe public would rarely use anything else other than the bundled IE.
If it started increasing it may make MS consider updating IE.

Hmm, I used the Netscape email client... Perhaps it is a good time to switch...?
Anybody here know a decent email client that supports IMAP and POP3 at the same time; and is capable of using secure protocols ?

Hehe... I believe the last one I tried didn't support IMAP and POP at the same time. Once you have an IMAP account, you can't add a POP3-account and vice versa...

Either way, I'd rather use pine

Seriously, though, any *other* suggestions ?
              (don't say Outlook Express ! )

Using Outlook XP (a.k.a. 2002) with no problems so far. I have several POP3 accounts and an IMAP one. I used to have a Hotmail account configured too (before the using IMAP one), dunno if it would change anything...

When was the last time you tried Outlook? I've been mixing and matching accounts for years.

Not true you can use both.

Outlook blows. Without an exchange server, the functionality is just not there, and it is SLOW and a system hog. I have not had any problems with Outlook Express though.

I think Opera M2 can do what you need, and it's an all around great emailer, though takes some getting used to. But I don't use IMAP, so I don't know how well it supports that. Worth a try, IMHO.

Gurm, The Pit, I misread; I was using Outlook Express 5 (which couldn't combine IMAP & POP3). Don't really like Outlook (nor Express 6).

Opera is a great browser, but weird as mailclient (sorry ).

I noticed Mozilla is working on Thunderbird (mail client); perhaps I'll try that (or the current Mozilla package).

                              Thanks,

As for browser support, Netscape won hands down because it supported every standard out there, and rendered pages correctly and as the author wanted them to appear. Long live Netscape 4!
