Finally managed to make the hdd boot the OS on the SATA controller instead of remapped on the IDE (compatibility mode). Seems the SATA RAID function must be enabled in the bios on my motherboard even if you don’t use SATA-RAID, for the SATA controller to function.
The Intel Application Accelerator RAID edition reports the hdd running as a normal non-RAID disk in SATA mode Generation 1. Yeah, I know, the Intel IDE drivers are supposed to suck, though Microsoft didn’t have any generic ones, had to press F6 during the OS installation and install from floppy using some early Intel drivers provided by Gigabyte on their website and then install the latest from Windows .
I have some slight problems though, the hdd clinks 3 times as if initializing whenever I restart or shutdown Windows, before it finally does it
