Possible a side effect of the instructions to clean the W32/Lovsan.worm this. I've noticed that the autoupdate feature on some machines has disappeared from the control panel after cleaning. How can I put the bugger back on so I can set the machine to autoupdate.

something else to keep in mind if you are running XP or ME with "restore" active:
You should kill this before you clean the MSblast thing from your system - if you dont, the system may at some stage in the future do some system maintenance due to some corruption and inadvertantly "restore" the worm to your system.
Once you have cleaned the system, you can re-activate restore, and then make a reference restore point - that then being the only one available for future use.LawrenceComment
