Is it better than the last few betas?

      In which ways?

They decided to make this Beta public, if that's any indication.

Still a beta is still a beta.

Of course. So to expect it running flawlessly and without any crashes or glitches whatsoever would be foolish.

            Well let's see...

            Beta2 had no:

            - Flash, Shockwave, or othre MM support, and plugins didn't always work.

            And it:

            - Crashed a LOT on boring text pages

So when I say "is it better" I mean does it work as well as 7.11?

No flash problems here. I used Beta 5 mostly (still 7.11 mainly though), and it crashed quite often, yes. Still it was quite usable, especially thanks to just re-opening the windows that were open prior to the crash.

A fun thing to try is go to a forum here - let's say GHW - press ctrl+j, highlight ALL links (should be 100+), and select "open in background page". It's amazing!

Try that with IE some time

A little tip: Ctrl-Shift-W closes all windows. I attempted the ctrl-j thingie in the lounge, with a long listing...
It choked my modem and computer.

Oh, modem... took ~10 seconds (stalled for about 3 secs) to open them all here

Downloading them all took a little longer though, even on DSL

Have 7.20 beta 7 installed and it's running like a champ.

Beta7 is running beautifully under both windows and Redhat 9.

Running under Redhat 9.093 Severn beta has a few issues, however, but that can be expected...
