  • I need your help to revive a G200 AGP card

Hello, i have a G200 AGP that had its bios washed out.

As some already knows, matrox cards of this generation maintains serial number, memory timings, memory space & others details in bios, and that this bios zone is leaved untouched after a bios update. (This zone is programmed at the factory and is supposed unique to the card, especially the serial number).

So my G200 has lost its configuration, and flashing its bios is partially successfull : the bios boots up, works in text mode (DOS), but since memory space is blasted, running into Windows or a VESA 2.0/3.0 leads to display corruption (using VBETEST of old but good SciTech UniVBE suite).

(i am used of restoring matrox's unique configuration since a long long time ago my G100 used to lost its parameters every 3 months )

SO i need a guy that could send my a BACKUP of its G200 AGP Card. i SAY BACKUP not a CLEAN BIOS from matrox SETUP257.EXE that has the last know BIOS for G200 cards.

After that i could recover my G200. (ok i will have the same serial number, but who cares ? )

So my card is G200 AGP 798-02 REV_A without TV. (the 900-33.bin of SETUP257.EXE is the good bios for this kind of G200).

NOTE: you can send me any bios version of G200 backup (there is no restriction with the bios itself, since i will upgrade with the last one when the G200 unique configuration will be restored with progbios -k -i ).

So: "A votre bon coeur messieurs dames"

You could also modify the file to have your own serial number.

Where you able to get your bios updated?

I followed everything on the Matrox site as well as the guide posted just above.

The windows update util says it can't find executable. The dos update util says it can't read the EPROM.
