  • win2k + sb live mixer question

    i've recently upgraded to win2000,

i've had problems with my sound in games (was choppy a litte), i tried many ways to fix it, nothing helped, so i upgraded my drivers, which fixed it!

but now, the new blue mixer that they used is not only ugly, but i dont like the interface at all, for example, if you go in the EAX tab you see 3 radio buttons each with the list of EAX effects, but i like it in one big list, anyone knows how to do this? (or as an alternative, anyone know how to stop chopiness with original CD drivers)

i've tried emailing creative support but they basically say 'the updates bring it in line with newer products, this probably isnt going to change' ... i dont want to go back and forth in email, as they probably dont see this as a big deal...

    any suggestions?

Do you use those things that much ?
I have a computer with Win2k and SB-Live! Platinum and afair the latest drivers. Sound is just fine and I defaulted into using the windows built in mixer.

yeah i use it (i know, the majority of people dont care about that stuff
but its ok now, i found a way to keep the mixer, i just downloaded the SBLiveXPDrvUpdate.exe update (also fixed some other problems), and to fix the crackling/choppiness in games i just turned the sound acceleration in dxdiag to basic (i would have that it would be the other way around, but oh well)

the performance hit is like 1% so i dont care
