Hi Opera users,
I read that AZ can open all the links on a web site using opera, but is there a way to click or select only a few of those links and have them open in a new tab. I read a few online newspapers and I click the headline then go back to the homepage then click to the next headline and so on and so on. I tried the AZ way but then it takes just as long to find the story I want to read then close em.

PS. Had no trouble importing IE bookmarks..I didn't have any
I really like using Opera. Great ad blocking for me and the new version also works with the one site I had to use IE for.

I really like this browser, although I have couple objections.

Is it a bug or I can't find appropriate setting... In fullscreen mode Opera starts using custom fonts, style sheets, e.t.c. and it rips a page apart. My deffault style setting is "Author mode" but Opera seems to ignore it in fullscreen.

RhinoZ: You can open links in the background by middle clicking them (provided you have your middle button configured that way), using the "down, up" gesture on them, holding ctrl+shift and clicking them (or right click and select from the menu, or ... )

I believe what you want though is the links panel. Either hit ctrl+j to show it, or use the hotlist (F4) links panel. There, select the links you want like in windows explorer (ctrl+click to select more than one link, shift+click to select multiple adjacent links). Then, when all the links you wanted are selected, either double click the last one, or hit enter, or, in the case of the big links panel, click the "open" or "open in..." button. Links will open in new tabs in the foreground then. Use ctrl+shift as you would with a normal link to open in background tabs instead. The "lock" button or checkbox will preserve the links so you don't lose them when you go to another page.

My, that sounded complicated. But it isn't, I'm just not a good tutor

KeiFront, Paddy: Sorry, can't help you folks, but you could ask in the official Opera for Windows Forum, or I could post your questions there if you don't want to create new accounts. It's a very friendly and informed forum, too, and many people there have VERY deep information about Opera.

magician: In fullscreen mode, Opera looks for CSS @media: projection (for special projection mode), so if only @media:screen is used (as on most pages), it uses default fonts. If no @media is given, it behaves normally. Workaround is either to leave @media out or add @media: projection. Yes, it is kind of a bug that Opera doesn't fall back to using screen when projection isn't given, or that there is no way for the user to decide if he even wants projection mode.

TransformX, just d/l it and try the free version w/ banners (no other limitation other than that, absolutely no spyware. Some people even found the google ads useful, imagine that!). For me, the added screen space from removing the banner and supporting Opera software and showing my appreciation through paying was worth it. I use Opera more than any other software, so why not pay for it?

BTW, if you think the default skin sucks (which it does), go to http://my.opera.com/customize/skins/ - and while you're at it, disable "special effects" (view -> skin -> special effects)

I adore the default skin, tryed a few skins and looked at many other and still think the original's the best

Found a workaround for my problem the open in background page shortcut "ctrl + alt + shift + click" works only when the "window handling" preference is set to "prefer pages inside". If it's set to "prefer seperate windows" the shortcut doesn't work , so the transfer window will have to stay inside the opera workspace .

Only big problem I have found so far is that it insists on making the bookmarks menu(s) MUCH wider than before, so much so that they pop up on the LEFT of the main bookmarks menu now because there's no room on the right. VERY irritating, but not a bug per se.

After 5 days of heavy usage I managed to crash it
Using a 60MB memory cache and 200MB disk cache. Think I should lower the memory cache or put it on automatic ?
