Setting up a machine for a friend with my "old" ASRock K7S8X mobo. She has a SiS Xabre 200 videcard. Install goes well until I try to have both the AGP GART and the Xabre 200 drivers installed at the same time. Get a black screen except for the mouse pointer upon reboot. Can login if I click where I know the login name should be and can shut down by pressing the power button. Weird. Tried earlier drivers/GART but no go. Anyone seen this sort of shite before. I vaguely remember something similar for the PCHIPS M571 back in the evil SS7 days.

I think when I reinstall on the actual hd i am going to use, I shall install the GART first then the Xabre drivers.[size=1]D3/\/7YCR4CK3R

still doesn't work. OK no GART for this card. hmmmm no irq for this card either, I wonder if that is the problem. Seems like that used to be the problem back in the day with the aforementioned M571. Of course on the integrated Xabre it seems to work with the SiS GART. Odd[size=1]D3/\/7YCR4CK3R
