It's about time that the high-and-mighty designers of these technically complex and elegant progams learned something from the designers of Napster and Kazaa - people like a good interface.

I use emule myself - don't see that there's an awful lot wrong with the interface of that. Last time I looked at edonkey I wasn't impressed with the interface, though.

I was referring to emule. I open a file, and it sits there. I get no idea of what it's doing, other than that it says "queued". Right-clicking shows no option to start it, or take it out of the "queued" state. Not to mention that getting a serverlist into eMule is obtuse and bizarre as well.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah

When was the last time you used emule?

It comes with a basic serverlist and updates it from clients and servers when it connects.

On Queue means you are on someone else's queue - as soon as you get to the top, you'll get some data.

Yeah, the edonkey network is slow these days, but it is pretty reliable.

You wanna write up a nice walkthrough for setting up DC++ so that I can find really obscure stuff on it just like on Kazaa, I'll be willing to switch.

          Soulseek

oh, and it's good to know this adress as well, in case of another domain loss (or something...)

edit: btw, I haven't installed it yet (didn't have the need to use fasttrack network recently), but KCeasy looks like a good alternative to kazaa client (yeah, it also needs the same ports to operate optimally, probably. But at least it desn't look as bloatware to me)
