OK, let's take this into a (friendly) Opera vs. Firebird thread

    I only said Opera's smaller because chaoliang said firebird's smaller - but it's really mostly a non-issue.

What's so wrong with Opera's UI? (This isn't intended as a flame, I'd just like to understand it. I could understand if you said you don't like how M2 works and feels, but the browser...?)

Oh, and about the maaany extensions: I don't like to have to install extensions, especially not those that only add in support for features that're already there with Opera. For me, it's just laziness, but for inexperienced users extensions are mostly useless (or hell).

It's hard to explain...don't remember exactly, actually. But the last time I've tried Opera, a month ago, this was still there.
Perhaps I'll download it again and try to express more specifically what really destroys experience with UI.

As for extensions - that's the idea behind Firebird - don't come with many confusing settings, just minimalistic, but if you want something, you have it in the form of extension. You have everything (or ~, perhaps some things are plainly different) what's got Opera and much more for sure If you don't want it - you don't have to download it/let it waste you options space/confuse you.
How easy that is depends how site with extensions is organised and how their function explained - I think that the one of Firebird goes in the right direction. (oh, and install is just click, restart...all)

What's the most hassle free alternative browser?

Changing browsers wont help they all are under the gun.

.xyz is for every website, everywhere.® We offer the most flexible and affordable domain names to create choice for the next generation of internet users.

And other browser makers, including Opera Software and two open-source development projects relied upon by companies like Hewlett-Packard and Apple, also face an uncertain future in terms of their plug-in technologies.
