Interesting, WC3 looks just fine on my 8500 with the 3.8's. Oh, and ever notice how the 'tards on Rage3D like to insult people with 8500s? It'd be like if people here called anyone with a G400 a newbie just because they didn't buy a Parhelia.

I've seen Eight claimed over at rage3d. Four under 3.7 then under the 3.8's four more were added. Eight always came back even if they deleted them all.

Ah, yep... missing and/or flickering textures confirmed in OpenGL with WC3. Didn't even know it could use OpenGL though, what's the point?

I'm pleased to say that I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!

The Dell OpenGL file from the post-3.8 betas that were up last week at Dell's site for all of 2 hours... fixes all these problems, AND performs better to boot!

It is, however, 2MB - so shipping it around is kind of inconvenient. Anyone got someplace they can host it? I'll upload... dZeus, maybe?

rage3d server seems to be down quite often after the release of cat 3.8.

Coincidental. Their forum server died (memory stick went south, took mobo with it, from what I hear) and the DB server is hosting the entire site right now.

Their servers never have been all that speedy during busy periods after driver releases, but like Gurm said, they've been having HW problems. The whole HL2 debacle is also causing a lotta extra traffic too I'm sure. I can host a 2 meg file just fine on my cable home page, but I'm not sure of the upload limit. Someone could also try bittorrent to share it.

Just noticed none of Sissoft sandra benchmarks run. Used too and the cat 3.8's are the only things that have changed bar the sound card. Strange.
