hmm thats weird, most products sold in the UK only come with a 1 year warranty, looks like we got screwed by europe again on that one, regardless it does say in UK law that all new products must be covered for 1 year so oems are warrantied in the UK for 1 year.

        Are scan getting better ????

Just checked the status of my rma of the processor. It tells you who recieved it who tested and whether a fault was found which there was. Next test how long for a replacement.

So it was a case of triple trouble. Faulty memory faulty cpu and dodgy motherboard.

This was how it worked for me 18 or more months ago. How long have you been boycotting Scan?

I'm more afraid of initial city link who scan use, they stole my stuff and duct taped the package back together. As soon as I opened the package and realised that there was no mobo cpu or memory I phoned scan who replaced it forthwith. I hope something bad happened to whoever stole my stuff. That being said I am waiting on a DVD burner from E-buyer to be delivered mané via you guessed it, initial city link.

Since the G200 days when I had to fill out the small claim forms becuase they wouldn't refund me or respond to any emails or faxes. They only responded when I faxed the MD saying I posted the court papers. Infact I made a mistake and the forms were returned but since scan ignored me I ignored all the phone calls making them sweat. Even better they refunded me an extra twenty pounds.

Scan also go a lot of bad press last year in pcplus for poor support and a collegue at work also had problems but he surrendered.

The problems with scan and another company that went bust also showed the lack of cover you have with credit cards. This is at odds with their advertising cliams of such companies.

Strangely enough, I have never had a problem with Parcelforce. I always get stuff from dabs through them, except if it is small then the send it via letter post which is a nightmare

I think each European state "Cougth" can opt out of the 3yr min warrenty if they so wish.

Not if it's an EU directive (which the 2yr warranty thingy is). But the UK didn't exaclty sign all the paperwork to become a full EU member. They're in the EU, after a fashion...

Still waiting for the replacement so I'll have to ring them tomorrow and see whats happening. The website not updated since last time.

Slowed motherboard to a crawl. Took ten minutes to install XP and then got a blue screen.

Well ten minutes isn't bad for install XP. Blue screen could be anything.

Still no replacement from Scan checking the rma process a few days ago just said completed whatever that means.
Looks like the returns process hasn't got any better I'll chase up tomorrow and if theres nothing by the end of the month it's back to the small claims if the credit card company won't help.
