Nero would write it the disk as the WAV files were 32bit. I forgot to convert them to 16bit.

It is all done now and it sounds good enough (for my ears)

The MAD plugin stinks. I will never use an mp3 decoder that doesn't have proper id3 support. Also, winamp's new decoder (not Nitrane, Fraunhofer) is already very good. I doubt most of you would hear any differences in a double blind test.

So, if a decoded MP3 is the same on whatever codec you use to decode, and a CDA file is the same whatever codec you use to create it, how can someone obtain a result that is better than another?
And, Paddy, why encode a CDA file to 32 bit when it cannot be played on a CD player?

Maggi, I forgot WHAT it was that was wrong with MAD's id3 support, but when I last tried it a few months ago _something_ wasn't right (along with a few other annoyances I forgot...). I think it was either id3v2 support or something with winamp's library.

Foobar doesn't use MAD, they use a heavily tweaked libmpg.
The tagging support in fb2k are great, and doesn't mess up your tags like Winamp does.

I just checked the latest version, taken from MADplay and it still doesn't.

But since I don't use ID3v2 at all, it's still my first choice.
