  • Any NTL customers having problems browsing?

Since around midday on the 26th I've been having problems browsing the net. I had to change the DNS servers from the ntl servers to some other DNS. Ended up putting in the ones from home that I could remember and that seemed to work, kind of. Anyone know some universal dns or caching DNS software fro windows?

I had DNS problems starting around 6pm last night...very flaky all evening. ICQ seemed unaffected but email (both NTL on POP and work on IMAP) were intermittent. The recorded message on the helpline said there was a major outage that they new about. Haven't checked today.

I couldn't remember any alternate DNS numbers, and couldn't look any up!

the problem was caused by a major backbone link between the UK and USA going down!

Would that have affected ADSL as well as my connection has been a bit crappy lately.

you'd only have been having problems yesterday with your adsl because of this.
just out of curiousity, are you using a router?
