  • Recommended VB .net book

Alexandra (aka Alice) has decided she wants to learn some programming.
Beats me how since computer screens give her a most terrible headache after a short while - unless she's playing a game she *really* enjoys (lately it's CIV3) which takes longer.

Anyway, a friend recommended VB .net and I wanted to know what would be a recommended book for a newbie to VB and programming in general.

Does she have any past experience in programming or is she learning from scratch?

If completely new I sujest wrox books (Beginning VB.NET) if not Deitel and Deitel books (ASP.NET and VB.NET Web Programming). Also Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Step by Step is a good begginer book.

If she is looking at web work this is a great little book ASP.NET Website Programming: Problem - Design - Solution VB.NET Edition.
