Ok... Treesize Pro shows that there is 4GB of information in the System Volume Information Folder... but that's not all... somehow the missing space has ballooned to 9GB.

As well on Drive D there is a System Volume Information Folder that contains 715MB but that still doesn't account for the other 2.25GB of missing space... I'm going to try to reclaim that space from the command line in repair mode

Alright somehow I did something that freed up all that space... its now correctly reporting that I'm using 11.72GB of space on drive C insead of 20.57GB but drive D is still messed up by 2GB... which isn't bad but still annoying

So you did run a virus scan, right?

Also, have you run scandisk? It may be a corruption problem, until you nail down just what's happening.

Ran Virus Scan... came up with nothing... scanned with NAV 2003, NAV 2004, Mcafee 8, And Kaspersky (Can't remember what version) all seperately of course and all uninstalled before the new AV was installed. Scandisk and Diskdoctor don't pick up anything corrupted or wrong at all.

Revenge of the way late idea:

Data hidden in alternate data streams? Just saw that Ad-Aware SE scans for them and while reading up at a site I had seen a long time ago I suddendly remembered this thread.
