    @Wombat:
    If you mean HL2, you're right, but I think D3 will come sooner (and a Radeon 9500 Pro will also perform poor in HL2). If you mean old HL, it's just a good joke .

    MW4? LoL. Well, I play it in 1024x768, max detail, FAA and aniso...

    Well, perhaps it's your xp1800 ?

    Sorry, If you replace a P with a 9800, allright, but to replace it with a Ti200

      No, I'm serious. In original HL I would get 10fps at 1024x768 if I looked at a light the wrong way.

      I was doing MW4 at 1024x768 w/ and w/o FAA. The GF3 runs 1280x960 faster than the P did the lower res.

      NOLF2 runs better on the GF3 as well (FAA looked nice, but was too much of a hit to keep it on with the P).

      Plus, my P banded like crazy. The only thing my P did better than my GF3 is pure 2D.

        Just thinking I ain't the only one to buy lemons.
        I'm glad I dropped out from ordering one despite all the hype at the time.
        I just Matrox to come out with a card just behind the next offerings from ATI and Nvidea. Hopefully they won't over price it as well.

          @Wombat:

          I believe you that you got this framerates now, but this could only be a problem of your system or software configuration at this time. Perhaps a Ti200 will perform better than a P in old HL because it's a openGL game, but normally it is well playable on a P too. Further, there are some games which don't like the P's drivers and openGL isn't a strenght of Matrox drivers, but in a modern d3d game (like Ut2003), any Geforce 3 Ti card will be smashed by the (retail) Parhelia, that's a fact.
          And MW4 runs perfect here like I said.
          About banding: What refresh rate did you used? I can only notice banding if I try to produce it (high brightness, low refresh rate and so on...), not while playing.
          Do you know that later drivers boosted the Parhelia performance (about 10% in some d3d games like Dungeon Siege as I remember correct)? Perhaps that's the point...

          Please just look at this benches (both max detail), the Parhelia even wins the openGL bench because the Ti200 is just too slow...

            You edited those pictures to cut the price scale off the Parhelia.

            I think the banding varied from card to card?

              Well, HL had to have been a driver issue, even ancient cards like the G400 should be able to run the game fine. Dunno if it's been fixed though ( if not, it probably won't ever be ), I guess I could go looking for my HL cd.

              I don't know about MW4, how recent is that game?

                Heck, Half-Life wasn't even any stress for a G200 (1st-hand experience). I hear it's software rendering would even run okay on a P120.

                  @Che Guevara: where did u get those marks from? FX5600XT has a 128bit memory interface? Either the author of that is messed up or he has trouble typing. All the NVIDIA 5600XT cards feature a crappy 64 bit memory interface...

                    @Chrono_Wanderer:

                    This benches are from http://www.digit-life.com/

                    Further, there are 5600XT variants with 128 and with 64 bit memory interface on the market... just like the 5200 cards.

                    @Jon P. Inghram:
                    You're right, banding is different on Parhelia boards, but not that much I think.

                    I cutted the Parhelia-Ti200 parts of two different beches, pasted them in one picture and maked it small to get an small file .

                    Of course Parhelia is more expensive than it looks like on these pictures .

                    @HL:

                      More and more, I'm beginning to think about the Parhelia... Mainly because of my other uses, but also, if it can reach playable framerates with actuall games, that is sufficiant for me... (I use the computer for non-gaming 90-95% of the time)
                      :-)
                      (Why did I even bother to look at other makes ? )

                        Like I said, if you want to do multi monitor gaming, but you don't game that much and you're doing photo and video editing, Parhelia sounds like the best (perhaps only) choice for you. I would go for 128mb retail.

                          Yes... Well, it won't be much multimonitor gaming (only have 2 displays on my desk + 1 TV a couple of metres away), but it still seems the best compromise for me...

                          I think the main reason I looked elsewhere, is that the other cards are cheaper and faster (guess I to was influenced by the marketing hype )

                          Thanks!
