    Nice whoring, Dave

You won't be able to record the video (you'd need a TV card or a video in card for that), you can only see it.

Yes, Flat panels advance pretty fast, but I think this is a unit you'll be happy with for a few years. Of course, next year something even better will come out, but that won't make your screen any worse

Gurm: This is one of the first units to sport a 20" 16ms panel. One other model is the NEC 2080ux+ (the "+" is important), but I hear it suffers from some iq problems.

As one of the lucky owners of the 2001fp, I would say buy it if you have the money to burn or are working on an outdated monitor. I'm sure there will better LCDs by the end of the year, but that's usually the case with cutting edge technology.

IMHO, this LCD is good enough to hold on to until Organic LCDs come out or Plasma gets a lot cheaper. Let me also add that Dell was nice enough to replace my unit 3 times until I had an LCD with only 1 dead pixel.

you can still get them for $900 on the home office site, i tried to get hold of 3 of these things from dell USA - but no joy, they wont ship to me in the UK, its a pity because while they were on offer for $750 in the land of the dollar, they cost $1350 over here on treasure island, they even do one with a "speacial" 2 tone bezel here but that weighs in at $1600. Got to love the pricing policies here in the UK!
My freind just pad $750 for a 17 inch IIyama!!

I thought Organic LCD's had a short lifespan before turning funny..making them more suited for Cell phones and not TV's or Monitors.
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

The current of version of them does. However, technology has a way of always updating itself so that it can meet the demands of other markets. (ie. plastic couldn't hold carbonation in it for longer than 30 days, now it has shelf lives that rival aluminum)
