  • help, problem with MS Word 2000!

having typed up my word document including the footnotes, I need to shift the left margin over to the right because the document needs to be spirally bound.
when I do this, I notice 2 things.
firstly, the footnotes don't shift over to the right like the main text body of the document & secondly, the solid line seperating the text from the footnotes becomes shortened instead of being almost fully across the page.
any ideas on how to sort this?
using MS office 2000 with sp3 & all patches

Place the cursor in the footnote and adjust the margin with the ruler margins. The line will move with the footer margin. As far as the line length goes, I don't know of the way to change that.

Maybe it's not worth worrying about...

maybe you're right but as it's for a dissertation I want it to be as "right" as possible.

If they don't specify the line length in the formal format, as long as every page is the same, it should be ok.

you could always draw a line on every page if it means that much
The Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England
