  • VNC server side scalingq

    Does anyone know how to do it? I'm using real VNC 3.3.7, and i can't figure it out...google isn't helping either.

      Can RealVNC actually do this? I thought this was something specific to Ultr@VNC. (Too lazy to look it up myself )

          Ya Kooldino,

          if I understand you right, you should look at http://www.tightvnc.com/

          it's 100% compatible to all other VNC derivates and offers an (experimental) option to scale the remote desktop up or down, eg. your workstation runs at 1024x768, but the client you're trying to reach runs at 1600x1200, then you could choose to scale down the output to 800x600 for example and thus it gives you better usability

              I always just start the vncserver like so. 'vncserver -depth 24 -geometry 1024x768' Of course you can have which ever resolution that you want. That's why I was kind of confused on what exactly you meant by scaling it. You can set the resolution to anything you want to use on the server side.
