Guys, 1) stop your speculating.
2) I'm not about to blacklist IP addresses.
3) I have more tools at my disposal then just IP address, and no I'm not going to tell you what they are.Juu nin to iro

But GNEP answered correctly, it is Gurm's choice not to post, he had his rights pulled from posting in the lounge/temp only - and it was temporary.

oh comon Gurm... i know that your views and mine clash 90% of the time but thats not a good reason to leave MURC
Prove you are mature and stay.
There are others here, who IMO, are just as guilty of the same wrong doings as Gurm but instead of being as direct as Gurm tend to beat around the bush more with what they say which seems to keep them out of trouble. Oh well, such as life in this world of PC correctness where those who are honest and direct to the point tend to get into the most trouble.
JoelLibertarian is still the way to go if we truly want a real change.

I think that if some people are bored enough to make personal insults on a forum AND TAKE them personally when insulted back....
Well, maybe we should just create a new place for them. The Troll Lounge.... I like the sound of that. It's just for people who want to get under other people's skins.
That way if you don't want to get insulted, simply don't post in there. Oh yeah, all out war is fun. Hey, better to bash each other on a forum from miles away than to bash someone's face in because you had a hard day at work!
Just an observation..
LeechWah! Wah!
In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

Just use their phone number and you get billed through the phone bill from your regular voice operation (they have a convention, "free" internet is metered at a pre-specified rate).
So I can change IP, ISP and MAC address no sweat (at worst a $5 NIC will do)...

RE: MAC address changes... a number of broadband providers are starting to bind your computers MAC address to your profile and only give out an IP address to that specific MAC address... or they will use really, really long expire times on the DHCP server. It can be problematic if you have a legit complaint, but also cuts down on a lot of things such as what you are talking about.
the days of your service provider having a "loose" network configuration are coming to an end.
on the other hand... if you wanted to be a problem... a laptop and wireless network card would make it so much easier these days...
but then again, the preventive step if someone was really being such an idiot would just be to prevent new accounts from being created and probably make the board private. *shrug*"And yet, after spending 20+ years trying to evolve the user interface into something better, what's the most powerful improvement Apple was able to make? They finally put a god damned shell back in." -jwz

Sorry to see you go man. We can all be opinionated sometimes (or always), but its too bad we can't discuss in this particular venue. I always thought the temp forum was put here for more "spicy" discussion, but I think I assumed wrong there. Sorry to see you go Gurm. Whether you were right or wrong, you always made good thoughtful points.

Sigh, for the last time.
READ WHAT I SAY
Spicy in the temp forum is fine, there is a reason I have edited Gurm's sig. That was the straw that broke the cammels back.
Also read my post in the lounge regarding this matter.Juu nin to iro
