how to delete sent mail?

I recently changed from IE 6 to Opera 7.23 and want to delete over 400 saved, sent emails from IE 6. The only way I see to do this is to do it one email at a time! I don't see an option to dump the entire contents of the "Sent Items" folder. (I use Win2k if it matters.) Anybody have a solution?

open the sent mail folder click on first mail to be deleted then drag slider bar to bottom and while holding Shift key click the last mail to be deleted it will highlight everything between them then the delete button

Other way - select first mail and then press Ctrl+A,
all mails will be selected and then you can delete it
