I don't have anything against OO and IMO one could use it instead of MSO for less demanding users that don't do complex stuff.

However on a same computer OO feels slower than MSO.

I've had people that wanted me to pirate Office for them on their brand new computer that they could have gotten a heck of discount on if they had bought Office with the machine. I refuse for obvious reasons and give them OpenOffice. They can't really complain then. And the wouldn't have used a tenth of the Office features anyway. If I feel the need for MS Software I just get the current Works Suite and including the current version of Word, Works and many other useful programs. Most people should use that anyway.

I know It just worked out that way. I still tell people to use OOo if they say they need an office suite.

I use OpenOffice at home which works fine for my needs.
At work I have Office XP, WordPerfect Office 11 and OpenOffice.

The only problem I have had with OO is that it doesn't properly create pdf files. I have to use Office XP and Acrobat to do this.

Out of the three I must say that the ms office product is best (if you include publisher and visio and exclude access which is an joke of a programming language.)

I use OO because it takes up less space, it's free, and it installs in 30 seconds. If I did a lot of MS Office work, I may install MSO, but I don't really care to.

PS - Anyone ever notice that if you're not logged in, everyone's username is backwards? Especially TnT's.
