What`s your oppinion on the Aero 7 Lite? I currently have a 2100+ @ 2.17 GHz (2700+, 1.7V), but am planning to get a 2500+ Barton in the near future. Looking to be quieter than my Igloo 2510 Pro, but at the same performance level, if not better.

I've a Spire WhisperRock 3 here, lying in its box. If somebody wants it, I would love to get rid of it.

I don't want to offend you, but for me it's loud (even at 7V); ah it's just a bunch of crap (think of the brute force single-nose clip!!). I wasted ~20E for it - in my eyes a 35E full copper cooler gives me a far greater bang for the buck.

Maybe the 4er is that much better.

      Cheers, Hannes

From what I read Aero is loud as Satan.

Secondly if your fan fails or you don't like it, you need to replace entire cooler.

On the other hand if you go with standard cooler that takes 92 or 80mm fans, you have much more options between extreme overclocking or ultra quiet, by selecting Delta Screamer or low voltage Panaflo, Papst or Zalman.

Finally, it's 15 Euros more expensive than Thermalright SLK900 here, which is hard to beat performance-wise.

Aero is quiet at low settings, but only cools well enough for stock speeds. To get cooling that's good enough to overclock requires setting it on vacuum cleaner loud.

I have an SLK800 w/ Panaflo L1A @ 12V and it is pretty quiet. People at SPCR undervolt the Panaflos; they still get good cooling and can barely hear the fan. The SPs are probably even better.

I cool a P4 2.8 with a Thermalright SLK-900U with Panaflo 80mm L1A @ ~6 VDC. Cools more then well enough. A thermalright SP-94 should be even better suited for the task.

Nowadays my priority is on quiet over OCability, which never used to be the case. Had a Delta screamer on my old Duron (still on it). Never realised how loud and annoying it could be until I went to the UK where the ambient noise level is a LOT lower.

Oh, and on my friends computer, where the motherboard fan controller malfunctioned, he could still use his computer 34 minutes, before it shutdown due the heat.
750grams of pure copper takes a while to heat up..

Seriously, I have installed the Zahlman copper versions in 5 machines now, and only heard praise for it.
Its even very simple to install (no bending pieces of sheet metal here, its screw-mounted diecast aluminium).

Hmm, didnt get that impression from the reviews i read. Seemed to offer pretty decent performance at not deafening noise. Oh well...

BTW, the Aero 7 Lite would cost me 15 eur here, which IS very cheap. The SLK900, i cant get it here, and even if i could, i doubt it could be had for less than 40 eur.

What are the prices for the Aero 7 Lite/SLK800/900 and nice Panaflo fans in Slovenia?

Well, I got the Thermalright SP97. It's sitting here in front of me now. I love the well-thought-out design. Much better method to affix the sink to the board than the Swiftech I'm using now.. they use a steel board behind the motherboard to screw the standoffs into.. the Swifty just had nuts which never quite tightened right until I got a tube of loctite and fused them on. This thing looks really cool, too.. and I'm getting a crazy fan for it.. a Vantec Tornado 92x38mm monster. Of course I got a controller too, so I can turn the thing down.

The Zalman is actually pretty cheap, so I might pick one up to play with too, if there is enough room there.

                        Thanks for all the input!

As of today MKD is 3,8545 SIT.
                          1€ = 238,0405 SIT.

There are 2 decent shops, where one might get better cooling than Thermaltake.

                          Mlacom
RedRat-store - not updated site in a year, they are Antec dealer, not really a retail shop. I bought Antec PSUs there.

AERO COOL Deep Impact DP-102 12.426SIT
                          Thermalright ALX800 7.182SIT
                          Thermalright SLK900A 9.804SIT

I paid 7.000 for each of SK7's about 6 months ago.

                          Fans:
                          Zalman F1B123 1.368SIT
                          Zalman F1 855SIT
                          Zalman F2 1.026SIT
                          PAPST 8412N/2GML 80mm 3.705SIT
                          PAPST 8412N/2GL 80mm 3.648SIT

I never saw Panaflos here, but I'd expect them to be priced similar to Papst's. 3 intake, 2 exhaust, 2 CPU - 100 Euros for freaking fans is IMO too much.

Personally I'm using Zalman F1's and F2's with resistors or fanmates.

The hardware selection here is not that good and prices are high. However I bought parts here as I could:
                          - buy across few months and upgrade gradually
                          - get lower prices through friends

Otherwise, I adwise you to check out Croatian shops. They have more serious shops, lower prices than us and bigger selection of stuff (for instance I didn't see Iwill MPX2 anywhere here).

Ask Goc Or Gpremec or follow link from Goc's sig to Croatian SETI forum and ask there.

I like my Thermaltake silentboost cooler

It's cooling performance is good, and it is inexpensive and quiet.

I have a thermalright 900U which is basically the SP series without the heatpipes. Performs excellently.
edited: thermalright/take my bad! (very bad, because i cant stand thermaltake hs/fan)
