I'd suggest you stop posting here any more, I just patented posting messages on the MURC BBS with a user name of "Belwarrior."

This likely applies only to US market and certainly Taiwaneese makers don't give a sh*t.

I believe the proper verbage would be:
"A Means and a System For Viewing...."

        Of course, I've already patented:
"A Means and a System For Viewing a Monitor...."
        Aka: eyeball

It is just plain crazy... Just to join in, I'm about to file
'A means and system consisting of carefully designed blades mounted on an electricity powered rotor to provide airflow, with the purpose of keeping PC internals and CPUs cool. They also have the secondary purpose of annoying PC users with the noise...'

Never limit your application like that.
Just patent the moving of air by any means, for any purpose.

              That's too limites in scope.

The patent would need to be the movement, or non-movement, of anything, by any means, for any purpose.

              Now, on to static things

They're not ignorant. The system is designed like this. The patent office makes a lot of money. They profit margin is largest when they simply take the application money and approve the patent, no matter how stupid it is.

                Here's a great example: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-P...1&f=G&l=50&s1='6368227'.WKU.&OS=PN/6368227&RS=PN/6368227

Hmm... I was looking forward to Antec's new cases, but now they might just lose my business if they decide to enforce this or any other lame patent.

According to Antec yes, they were the first to market this concept. And according to Antec, they filed for this patent a long, long time ago, back when they first introduced the fans. They are saying that at the time their packaging included the words "patent pending" and, after everyone and their mother started selling them, they supposedly issued letters to other companies to make sure they knew that they were in the process of patenting it.

I do acctually remember when they first came out. As far as I remember, yes they were the first to do it.
