Yes DHCP is enabled and I can ping my machine from other machines too.

Man I'm "this close" to throwing in the towel. I've been trying just about everything short of a clean install by now.

I think this gang of guys is bad luck when we get together. There is always one PC that does not work right

Thanks for the effort though guys. MUCH appreciated
If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

I'm not sure that you can ping your machine. You're pinging A machine. It could be an IP conflict. Unplug your machine from the network, and THEN see if you can ping it. Somebody else could have that IP.

192.168.1.100 would be the FIRST address a DHCP server is likely to give. Unless you were the first guy to plug into the network, it looks odd.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.
