  • ATI/Laptop Hack

Hey, does anybody remember the link to the program that changes your display .ini files for notebooks, so you can upgrade to the new Catalyst 4.3 drivers? I'm going to restore my notebook, and I'm going to back up the program, but I don't remember who had it.

why not just use the Omega drivers ???

I installed them on a Radeon 9600 mobile, they just work fine and the latest version is based on the 4.4 CATs ...

Is there something thik this for nvidia stuff?

I have an Inpsiron 8100 with a Nvidia vid card in it.

Any ideas where to look for such a thing?

                  4.4

The first link gets you the 4.4 drivers as well, all it's doing is changing the information around so the PC based drivers think they are being installed on a PC, not a notebook card. So when you hack them, you can download the newest drivers. If I remember correctly, I believe you download the ATI file, have the program modify the new folder you downloaded, and then you go to your display adapter driver, and update it, specifying that you'll choose it from a specific location, which is the new ATI folder you just made from the download. The mod program also does this for you, however, I couldn't seem to find my adapter listed when it ran the update, I had to do it manually. It may not be digitally signed, but I'd rather have these than my two year old drivers. (Thanks HP, for not offering updates).
