Books/Online SQL Resources?

I'm in the process of self-teaching myself OracleSQL since my teacher isn't capable of presenting the material in any worthwhile fashion. The introduction, DDL and DML commands, plus views are being crammed into the the last three days of class. The only material I have at this point are a bunch of slides that show example after example, but none of it does any good if I do not understand the logic behind the syntax.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

not Oracle, but standard SQL syntax and such, complete with an online SQL interpreter so you can test you got the syntax right

Wow, that's a nice one, especially with its SELECT coverage! Any recommendations for something similar that covers: creating views, normalizing/denormalizing, partitioning, and combining?
