The old workhorse is doing just fine for its purposes. The new apps demanded the new platform.

You're missing lower FSB's, I'm running a Celeron Tualatin 1.2 at 1.416 GHz, 118 MHz FSB.

Another Tualatin

My Celeron Tualatin 1.3 is running at 1.73GHz, 133 MHz FSB. Better performance than some of the early P4 processors out there!

but - which machine?

My main work machine is an Athlon XP1800, in an Acer AK73 Pro-A (with Via KT133A) motherboard. Yes - that's 133MHz SDRAM - not even DDR. (though I do have 1.5G of it, so that helps )
This is with the Parhelia (recently upgraded from a G450), and a Seagate 120G IDE drive (replaced a DeathStar). No DVD, no FireWire, and USB 1.1.

I've had it for 3 years, and I think I may be upgrading soon™ .

- Steve

edit: added a bit of detail.

for my AV set up i will go with the Avid DS nitris solution hooked up to the same raid system. using probaly an Nvidia card (unless Matrox does something better and avid suports it) HD equipment all the way..

for my audio set up 4 dual CPU worksations... one for recording.. one for fx.. one for instruments and one for mastering... all conected together through difrent typs of sound cards depending on the need of each system... all conected to a dual screen touchsensetive Macki DxB mixer conected to the recording PC through firewire to act as a multi IO sound card.... Matrox card 3 monitors +

and thats just the tip of the Ice berg

1xDuron 1200 with FSB 100.

1xBarton 2500+ @ 2.2GHz with FSB 333, although I want that to be 400

1xPentium 133MHz laptop - still sees occasional use...

Hmm, 3 machines, and none in your list...

1x dual Xeon 2.4 GHz (FSB533)
1x Pentium II 450 MHz (FSB 100)
1x 32 bit 36MHz ARM 7100 CPU (my trusty Psion 5mx )

(+ some older stuff I need to reconfigure: 1x Pentium 166, 2x 486DX2, ...)
