Az, sadly, I do need those optimizations.
I make real estate management software that involves lots of popups, java applets, JS, data entry.

Firefox I use during debug/initial coding - it has some very nice plugins for this. Then I move to IE for final testing.

When I am at home, I try to leave the most technical thing I do to being Murc, the rest of my surfing is just fun related. I really don't have the energy to play at home. Nor can I justify paying for a browser to use at home, when Firefox does support all my needs. Seriously, have you played with firefox and checkout some of the extentions available recently?

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, knocks them over, and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

As hard as it is to believe, I also don't have the energy to play with my computer config anymore, and Opera comes with everything I need pre-installed, while for Moz I would have to wade through dozens of Plugins etc.

Since I have used Opera since 2000, I am used to its interface and concept, and have found many useful features. There really is nothing major that I need that Opera doesn't give me as a web browser, so why should I change? I guess the same applies to you using Mozilla. (But Opera can be configured to look and behave almost like Mozilla or IE)

I did use Firefox and Opera during development, handy for spotting css errors, IE is fairly friendly with css positioning errors. IE won't pick up 200px missing the px (200) but the other browsers will, only use I have found for it so far but very handy.

Actually, what percentage of people will know or care about changing what their browser is recognized as? Maybe 5% if that. That makes the number of actual Opera users closer to 1,460,000 out of 4,000,000.

Haven't messed with the new version of Opera, but I've noticed the versions I've used tend to choke when you load a very large page. Perhaps there is some cache setting I missed, but the default should be big enough so the thing won't choke.

Turns out Opera doesn't mind "this.style.cursor='hand'", it's Mozilla and Firefox that don't like this and prefer 'pointer'. Therefore the question is how many Mozilla users are out there, weblog version 2.53 doesn't seem to notice it.
