  • Amazing price on 21" monitor (UK)

Its a 21" Samsung SM1100DF. Several places have the ivory version for ~£300. E-Buyer have this for £130 in black. The depth is the same as my current 19" CRTs so I've ordered 2 and we'll see what gets kept/sold. The specs look pretty decent.

I think it must be a mistake...we'll see if E-Buyer ships before realising! They've sold over 40 in the last 2 hours so I don't imagine they'll last long.

[I deleted the original thread cos I didn't like the title].

If they actually send it; I think it will make a rather nice way of "fixing" the broken OSD (died yesterday) on this 17"...

For whatever it's worth, they say they've taken money now. IIRC from reading about previous mispricing incidents; this was an important point

I had that monitor at work for a while and it wasn't the best out there, however, at the price you're paying for it it's worth it.

Otherwise, the monitor costs ~£250 here.

Thanks UtwigMU. Does it have the USB control that the 957p has? The case looks very simillar but there is very little detail on the Samsung website.

It's something like that -Samsung global (or it might have been Samsung USA, I can't remember now) has more information about it...

I just got a despatch notification! I really wasn't expecting to get these

Here's a user-comment on the ebuyer website - this makes it clear that it has the same feature set of my 957p (which I paid ~£140 for a few months ago) except it is completely flat and 2" bigger:

I couldn't resist - having paid £1200 (+ extra for 3yr onsite) on my first 21", almost £500 (inc onsite) for my second - £130 for this seemed to be bargain of the year.

                Well, it wasn't.

Nobody mentioned the BNC or USB connections on the back in addition to the VGA D-sub.

Nobody mentioned the capability for the monitor to handle 2 connections which can be switched with a couple of button presses.

Nobody mentioned that you can use your mouse to control screen geometry (via USB) and how easy it is to set up.

Bargain of the year? Pah! Bargain of the decade, more like.

Picture quality is excellent - haven't seen too many displays with a focus adjustment on them as this has. Oh yeah - and it's black. Goes nicely with my decor.

At this price, and considering it *isn't* a Trinitron based tube I want at least another 2.

If you've got one to use - good buy. If you bought one to sell on, your monitor better be damn good to compete with this one. However, if you missed out on the first load through ebuyer and want one - better hope they get more in 'cause they retail for about £300 elsewhere.

                Nice one ebuyer

I simply hope that it will replace with advantage the useless thing sitting in front of me with the whine & the broken OSD. But great timing from ebuyer.

sods law, just went to order 2, while deliberating for 20 minutes on whether or not i needed them they went up to 130 + vat, never mind, still a bargain i figure!

I think they must have realised that they didn't set the price high enough. I'm surprised that any revision in the price was so small - just show how much profit is normally made on these things!

Mine arrived. I've now no space for my keyboard & some concerns about desk strength; but no annoying whine -which is worth the money in iteself.
