If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

Aren't executives frickin' brilliant? Why not sell off profitable business in order to move wholeheartedly into a money losing business. Genius!!
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

Well, if they turn out to be right, they are said to have "vision".

And if they fail, they get golden parachutes.

I guess they are just going for the option that will be for fun for them.

I think it's excellent news for everyone involved. Board members get to be back in the entertainment business full time, engineers actually get to work on software at Sonic...

OK, so Napster is likely to fall on it's sword in a few months/years, at which point the execs will probably appeal to MS that napster is such an important part of MCE that they have to throw money at them.

I don't like Roxio's software anymore anyway. These days, I'm a Nero man.

Yeah, I bet they were getting butchered by Nero. That and people think online music download will take over all music sales. I have a $60 credit for SOny Connect (got it for free for driving a Lexus IS 300 ..mmmmmmm... ) and haven't found a single song I want to download yet

Nero ate almost the whole CD/DVD burninating software industry. And it did it by being good software, rather then marketing and smoke and mirrors.

I know we australians like to stamp our authority on the english language, but what on earth is "burninating"???

It took me a couple of minutes to stop laughing so i was able to type this response...

That has given me one of the best laughs i've had in a long time.

                      Thanks rugger

Roxio (ne: Adaptec) going out of the burning business?

LONG overdue since Aheads NERO came along. Now that's a REAL piece of more-than-just-useful software.
