Promise IDE cards, both RAID and HDD controllers, are treated as SCSI devices. Check your Device Manager. As for supporting CD drives the RAID cards will not but the Ultra IDE controllers will.

Nope it does support atapi and I've had no problems using this card with CD drives in several machines.Originally posted by Wombat
Not necessarily. I believe my Promise TX2 was EIDE, and it did not support ATAPI.Comment
