Oops, yeah, my bad, it'd be 1MB = 8mb = 1024kB. Aw, crap, you all knew what I meant!

Either way, I would like 1MB/sec download. I'm lucky enough to get 160kb/s on my DSL connection.

    Wah! Wah!

In a perfect world... spammers would get caught, go to jail, and share a cell with many men who have enlarged their penises, taken Viagra and are looking for a new relationship.

Well my cable provider claims 10mbit DL/1mbit Upload. I was capped for a period of time causing some issues with my VoIP phone.
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

reality is, most sites never pump enough to fill 10Mb download. Main reason I got what I did was for the equal upload speed

I'd like to see Broadband at even half the speeds that some places in the US and Europe have here in Oz.

There is a reasonably good chance that most places cannot get the fastest available in Oz at the moment (1500) and given the nature of our countries largest telco, I wouldn't be suprised if a lot of people would have difficulty with 512...

This all on top of the fact that there is still an enormous part of the population that just can't get ADSL at all...

I have seen some 2MB/2MB SHDSL plans through west net and a few other ISP's , but they are mostly aimed at business.

If you want to find out about the available australia plans, there is only one place you need to go
