One annoying thing about 3com is that they often change chip revisions without telling anybody. You may have an earlier 905.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

      First time I've ever had a prob with a 3com 3c905 working at 100...
Well, it's not that the 3com is having problems at 100, but both sides have to be the same and if one of the 4 settings are off on one of the sides, you can potentially have problems. Only thing I can think of is, the nic was set to one thing before the update and somehow changed after the update?

Anyway, since you couldn't find a setting in the router, I was assuming it defaults to 10/half since that is what most devices default to.
Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice, pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

Well, I am running the same (supposedly) card in both rigs. In my main rig, everything is at default. Router shows 100mbit connection, as it was before with the office rig (but now shows 10mbit connection for office).

Oh well. It's working, that's what matters. I got all the updates and drivers I needed, so in the morning, the rig goes to the shop, and I won't need to worry about it again (at least for a while )

Thanks for the help and suggestions!
