i am sure you have said this before but to refresh the memory and for the benefit of Topha.. what LAME options are you using?

BTW i prefer EAC and LAME myself... used the default settings and it is running smoothly which has produced a good quality VBR mp3 rips so i have not changed it, so this combo doesnt really need you to fiddle around with the options unless of course you want to get down and dirty your hands

In EAC's "External Compression" tab, I chose the "User Defined Compressor", pointed it to the location where I had LAME.exe extracted to and added the following line to the "Additional command line options"
-k -m s -p --priority 2 -q 0 -V 0 --vbr-old --verbose %s %d

for maximum quality VBRs ...

of course, you could choose --vbr-new for faster compression ...

can you help me with the LAME setting for the max VBR you have there Maggi?

Do I choose any setting for the bitrate they give me at that particular EAC window? or will your user defined code overwrite this?

EAC looks neat by the way, very similar to CDex but it seems much more professional!

I say stick with WMP10, I absolutely love it ripping, burning, and playing, only thing I don't use it for is playing DVDs.

strange am the other way around
I use WMP to play my DVDs and everything else to rip/burn/play (Winamp, EAC, CDex, Mp3Gain etc.)
