      BTW there is a Beta 64bit Radeon driver available but it dates back to May!

        So defintely give xp 64bit a shot....then install 64bit linux

          Thanks MMM. When I get my 32-bit problems solved I'll give that a try.

          At first I was getting "stop: c0000221 Unknown hard error" and a report of corrupt DLLs when first going into Windows. I know my 2nd HDD is a little flaky (I hear the occasional squaky seek) so with a combination of drive connects/disconnects and soft/hard reboots I was able to finally get XP Pro installed on the new rig late last night. This morning it wasn't until I put the main drive on its own (and not using the Icy Dock rack) that I managed to boot - was was just getting a generic "there has been a drive read error, press C-A-D to reboot".

          I need to do more testing to feel happy about this new board!
          When it is working, it sure flies!
