Well, for apps that can't do 480x320 the virtual text input area is displayed on my T3, but for a resolution that's less than Hires (320x320), I see problems cropping up...Plus, Symbian seems a lot more flexible about these things than PalmOS, apps are usually made either for the Series 60 interface or for the Sony Ericsson Pxxx one.

I'm holding out for the Motorola MPX

PocketPC 2003 SE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GSM, GPRS, SD card slot. Pretty, compact, useful. Very fancy dual hinge design, so it opens in both portrait and landscape modes.

That's very nice. 32MB ram is a drawback though and the slower 200MHz processor. It is definitely a contender for me. Thanks for sharing.

There have been various rumors about the RAM for the MPX. Some say 32MB, some say 64MB. I don't think Motorola has confirmed either way yet, but I could be wrong.

Also, it's probably going to be hella expensive.

Also, isn't it supposed to come out in Q1 2005? That's a pretty long wait

I have thought about the MPx, but I think it will be in a pricerange similar to the Nokia 9500. But it looks like a great device (how Motorola managed to stuff everything in such a small form factor is a mystery).

yup, and if you follow the discussions in the different palm-related forums, absolutely everyone is disappointed. Basically it's a T3 with more Ram and without slider.

Last I read the 650 was just a rumor.

                      I have a 600 myself.

I just read up on the Motorola A780... Wouldn't this suit your purpose ?
(it only seems to lack wifi)

                              Just to revive this thread:
This weekend, I saw someone using a Treo600. And it looked very convenient... So much, that I have started doubting about the Nokia 6260 + something else. I particularly liked the way typing is possible while handholding the device (no table needed).

Of course, given the 650, it seems better for me to just hold out a bit longer: bluetooth, better screen, ...
The only thing that scares me somewhat is the bulkyness...
