  • Santa Cruz internal mic/headphone header ??

So...I just picked up a new case, which has audio jacks on the front of it. I'd like to use these with my TBSC.
There is a header on the card clearly labeled 'mic/headphone'.
The manual and their website state this header is only for internal use, and they do not give a pinout for it.
Nobody on the 3dsoundsurge forums appears to know, as the question has been asked many times, but never answered.

So, I turn to the weath of knowledge that is MURC...Does anybody here know where to find the pinout of this header on my Santa Cruz?

Sorry Kruzin. Have you tried putting an oscilloscope or a meter on the pins?

I did a search on Google, and apparently, the card is also available from Dell:

Perhaps they have some cases in which the card is connected to the frontpanel...?

Wombat - no, I haven't. Don't have an ocsilliscope, haven't prodded it with a voltmeter yet.

VJ - that is my thought. it's used for front panel jacks...which is what I want to use it for. Unfortunatly, it seems nobody on the planet has the pinout info...

            Weird:

            And also weird:

In some links, they mention that front audio is only available when the system board has internal audio...

Maybe this can help you (hope is not too late)

I had the same problem so I started doing some testing and get this to work.

              look at this image http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...h/scz_card.gif

from left to right the pins are

              1.
              2.
              3. Mic tip
              4.
              5. Mic sleeve
              6.
              7. Headphones Right channel
              8.
              9. Headphones Left channel
              10. Common ground (mic and headphones)

I dont remember if the Santa Cruz control panel software has the sliders for this two front panel devices, since im using linux and have not used this card in windows for a long time. But in linux works great.

              Hope you find this useful..

About a month ago, I tried connecting this header for front headphones. Couldn't get it working (with a non-Dell TBSC) in Windows XP.

See more info here and here

MegaDave: are you using a Dell TBSC or a non-Dell version? Did you try the 'short pin 3 to pin 1 to mute backpanel' trick?
