    well, I need to get a replacement for my current epia before I can do anything. and it is slightly modded (it's an epia 800, which uses a fan in the stock version. I replaced the hsf with a zalman flower - does that matter for you?)

      Doesn't matter to me at all, as long as it's still reliable (maybe with a 12cm fan... it won't be a living room PC). It also isn't very urgent, but before the end of the year would be nice

        should be possible, send me an email. and it is quite reliable, it ran for over 3 months without reboot (debian sarge) - then a fuse blow because of some overloaded kitchen appliances and took the system down...

          Get a second hand ibm / compaq sff pc. And bung a new hard disk inside.
