      Just to give an idea, I'm running XP on a Shuttle SpaceWalker hot-661 (not the via chipset, but the Intel BX-chipset).
      CPU = PII-450 Mhz
      MEM = 384 MB
      HDD = 40 GB, 7200 RPM (mainboard doesn't support much bigger)

      The system runs smooth for regular office-type applications. Occasional photoediting is possible, but not extremely fast. Internet via an external US Robotics 56K modem goes fine.

        BTW, its a PIII, 500MHz, Slot 1 processor. SDRAM is getting hard to come by but I have another 128 strip coming on monday.

        As I said in a previous thread, I just want the thing to run 24 hours a day just for downloading. When it gets infected like hell, I'll just re-install a ghost image.
