Better than trying to be jack of all trades, master of none. I think they are making wise choices that are unpopular from the general punters opinion.

I hope they concentrate on getting their Linux / Unix drivers up to scratch.

      http://www.matrox.com/video/products/pdf/axio.pdf Looks good but pricey.

They have changed the font for their logo by the looks of things.

Parhelia is being used on some of their video boards for 3d effects. (Bit of a stick on job by the board layout)

They could have been devoting their time to working on that rather than a standalone graphics card!!!

IMHO they should concentrate on supplying office cards and cards for HTPCs, which includes very good linux drivers and TV out, no noise, low heat. That is, if they want to stay in the retail market.

Well, 10 more days left and it will have been a full YEAR since Matrox has released a new Parhelia driver for linux. Sad, I think they've come out with at least two new drivers for the G-series.

I'd disagree with that. A lot of flight sim users and UT2k4 players and such like the Parhelia due to the surround gaming feature. Hell, I would have been content with mine if it weren't for the crappy linux support.

Not to mention its popularity in the video community. Triplehead or dualhead + a high quality S-video out is just too nice to ignore for them.

Lets see, This is a Matrox forum. Yet, how many people here use a Matrox card for gaming?

Outside gaming, Matrox cards used are much higher. Gaming, No one took the P seriously 2 months after release. As for now, 2 YEARS later?

                  Be serious.

There is still a small active gaming community for P, including those with enough know-how to create hacks to make games surround capable.
I know I still happily use my P for gaming. As long as you don't get sucked in by benchmark hype, and just enjoy your gaming, P does just fine in the vast majority of today's games.

What Kruzin said! You can say Be Serious all you want, but the Parhelia is quite well suited to do the surroung gaming of most games. There was even a thread on here about how to get Half-Life 2 working in Surround, and people said it was playable.

"People said it was playable" is a far cry from "looks good and runs smoothly." That is, IF you can ignore the banding, or have an 8X P.

Mine runs HL2 at a point where it looks good and runs smoothly in surround mode.
Banding has never been an issue on my P, and it's one of the oldest ones around...just luck of the draw...

From the point I started the game, to the point I finished it.

Is it using the DX7 rendering path?
