  • Recycler doesn't work?

I've been cleaning up and defragmenting my server, and while doing so noticed that the Recycler folder (not the Recycle Bin, the physical folder that stres the stuff for the Recycle Bin) was taking up 4 GB of space. I emptied the recycle bin but it didn't get rid of it.

I finally had to go into Command Prompt and run: RD recycler /s

After doing so I suddenly had 8 GB more of free space. Talk about inefficient.

Ever tried emptying a recycle bin with an illegal file name in it.

At least deleting the recyle bin solves a lot of problems

Doesn't the recycler reserve space on your HD?

        no.
On the other hand you can limit how much it will gobble up

yes and no. You can set a maximum size for how much HDD space the Recycle Bin can use. If a single file exceeds that limit them it is permanently deleted. But it is not in permanent reserve.
