Hello,
Does anyone have experience with serial-to-bluetooth adapters? I have seen there are devices that connect directly on a serial port, and use bluetooth for communications (no drivers needed).
I suspect they only support the SPP (Serial Port Profile) of bluetooth. Is this the case?
Now, if I connect a thing like that to a high-end GPS system (which has a serial port), can I then connect this GPS to e.g. a mobile phone ?
(I have some hardware which has a serial port, and for which I could use wireless connections. Furthermore, it would make a serial port on hardware to be purchased (i.e. a GPS) a big plus for me...
Is it really transparent for the hardware, or are there hidden pitfalls?
Thanks!
Jörg
