There is no reason to pay for norton more than once in the US anyway.
Every year around the begining of December they offer two rebates, purchase and upgrade, that combine to equal the price of the product for Systemworks Pro (or whatever they call it now)
I upgrade every year and the only net cost to me was my original purchase 5 years ago and postage.

PS It sells out fast so go early.
I buy it at Staples.Chuck

Sony seems to be able to minimize performance impact of NAV on their PCs since I've tried several Sony PCs (both desktops and Laptops) and the lagging isn't as bad as on my computer with NAV installed.MSI K8N Neo 2 Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 3200

WD 160 GB HDD
2 x 80 GB Maxtor HDDs in RAID 1

When you talk about performance impact, do you mean with scanning all files plus heuristics on. At home, I use "SmartScan" with heuristics off. This was fine on my Athlon 600 in sig.
Edit:
Anyone know where to find a list of file type that viruses can be?Last edited by High_Jumbllama; 24 December 2004, 18:05.
