Update: I've flashed the EDID with the supposed correct information. I'm running th newest nVidia drivers. I flashed the VGA BIOS to the newest version.

Currently, the nVidia drivers and Windows detects the DVI connection, but when I try to switch to the DVI input ... blank screen. I'm down to my last option, which is finding a new, better, DVI cable. Hopfully that will tip the scal in my favor

I would also try several different drivers. Nvidia drivers leak like I do after drinking a 12 pack of mountain dew in a single sitting.

I have been using a Geforce Ti-4200-8x and now a Geforce 6600 GT in DVI-D mode. Both look excellent on my sony (yes, not the best value for money, but okish screen with DVI-D) 17inch LCD.

Now you're simply trying to get entered into the famous quotes list.

Attempt #4 ... Omega drivers. Many people only report that tweaks made in the Omega drivers have fixed their DVI problems.

              Result: Total failure.

Attempt #5: ... must find new DVI cable?

Seems to be the absolute only options left. The strange things is that the nVidia control panel deal detects the monitor via DVI, and I can switch it to DVI in software ... but nothing shows up. Which leads me to believe it's either the cable or the LCD display.

              *sigh* ...

Or the DVI transmitter on the nVidia board could be toasted. Its possible to still detect and read the lcd EDID info even though the rest of the data link is busted, since its a differant protocol and dedicated pins for DDC access.
