    I also have the feeling that they do it delibrately. I'm not sure if providers using the German Telekom backbone do this as well. My provider, Freenet, uses another backbone. Also the speed is not as steady as before. Sometimes it is almost as slow as a 56K modem.

      TRUST ME, I looked into this EXTENSIVELY, and the answer was "maybe" because there was the "Windows MTU" and the "PPPoE MTU" and it is DEFINITELY possible to change the Windows MTU but you don't really WANT to. You want the driver to break it up if needed... ahh, whatever. I was just trying to help. In my experience RASPPPoE is/was VASTLY superior to the standard driver, that's all.
